Rules of life by Kristina Geiler
BORN 1986. LIVES IN MOSCOW.
- Creativity comes from impulse. I want people to see what I see in the world. Everything I draw is subject to this desire.
- Searching the main occupation in my life I asked: "Can I do it?". Courage and persistence helped me to answer- these skills worked out in riding. Once at an art exhibition I wanted to create something different: mood, colors, technique. Since then, a new life has begun for me…
- Ambitions are worth nothing without hard work. And this work makes little sense if people do not like the result. Therefore, people of art and people of business have more in common than it may seem.
- Without training craft cannot be. But craft ceases to be useful when it limits. So, studying realism, you try to make the colors on the canvas as close as possible to the natural. But when you put your idea into practice, your priorities change. The truth is illustrated by a saying: at first 10 000 hours of practice, only then understanding. Many thanks to my teacher, Ksenia Alekseeva, for the painstaking and time-consuming process of learning and immersion in the world of paints, painting and art; to Marina Rakhmatullina - for opening doors to the world of sculpture.
- Enjoying color is both a process and a goal. Thinking about the picture, I know what basic colors I will use. But how I am going to achieve a color, find out in the process. The color should be effective - I left this definition from the previous profession, and for me it is true.
- The inner child-that's who I want to keep in any person. You can lose everything, but do not find the child more inside yourself– this is the worst. The child is open to the world and is able to wonder. And this is the substance of life.
- There is nothing more pleasant than praise from someone who loves you. And the praise grows out of skepticism. After all, love is strict and demanding. And each time this test themselves: Can I or not?
- As for painting, entering into discussion with someone who tries to pass off an absurdity or delusion as truth is useless. But the value is a dialogue with a person who speaks out the feelings that have appeared; he begins to think out the development of the plot. I work for these dialogues.
- I do not believe that an artist should starve or suffer in order to be engaged in art. But I believe that the artist can not afford to relax for a long time. "Talent is an assignment," the poet said. And who realizes the talent, that is happy.
